Reporting illegal content
If you believe something on Juno is illegal, write to legal@staging.chatwithjuno.com with:
- where it is: the conversation and message, or the account's address (such as @handle);
- why you believe it is illegal, as precisely as you can;
- your name and email address. You may leave them out if you are reporting child sexual abuse material;
- a statement that you believe in good faith that the report is accurate and complete.
We confirm we received your report, review it carefully and without bias, and tell you what we decided and how you can challenge it. If we remove content or restrict an account, we tell the person affected what we did and why, unless the law or someone's safety stops us.
If a report suggests a threat to someone's life or safety, we tell the authorities. We report child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), as US law requires.
Copyright (DMCA)
To report copyright infringement, send a notice to our designated agent: [DMCA designated agent: name, address and email, once registered with the US Copyright Office]
The notice must include:
- your signature (typed is fine) and contact details;
- the copyrighted work you say is infringed;
- where the infringing material is on Juno, precisely enough for us to find it;
- a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorised by the owner, its agent or the law;
- a statement, under penalty of perjury, that the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or may act for them.
If your content was removed because of a notice and you believe that was a mistake, you can send a counter-notice to the same address. We close the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe.
Requests from law enforcement
We answer valid legal requests for user data that are sent to legal@staging.chatwithjuno.com. Unless the law forbids it, we tell the people concerned before we disclose their data. [A short law-enforcement guide: which legal process is needed for which data]
